±1 Matchmaker for all Vehicles!

As you know, ±2 matchmaking is currently used in the game. This means that a tier difference of 2 is allowed for vehicles allocated to the same battle.

Some players like to smash lower-tier vehicles and surmount the difficulties in battles against higher-tier opponents. But every tanker can recall an encounter against an almost invulnerable enemy that has a two-tier advantage. After the release of version 2.9, such encounters will be minimized.

Making a Fresh Start!

You might have already guessed it from the header, but we are happy to officially announce that:

Starting from version 2.9, we will introduce ±1 matchmaker, and the well-liked preferential matchmaking will become standard practice for every vehicle!

The principle of ±1 tier will allow you to prove your combat strength in any tank and win due to your skills and knowledge of a particular vehicle, rather than a huge tier difference.

Balance Improvements and Profitability Increase

Learn about the reasons for changes in vehicle characteristics firsthand from Andrew Panasiuk, Lead Game Balance Designer, World of Tanks Blitz:

“The purpose of balance improvements in version 2.9 is to adjust the characteristics of vehicles that stand out from the statistics and improve Premium vehicles that previously had preferential matchmaking. We took statistics from the NA region, where the new matchmaker was tested for quite a long time. In future we will take the data from the RU region”.
